Data-Driven Subscriptions: Detecting Success

I am using Data-Driven Subcriptions to send a report to different
recipients using different parameters.
I would like to know if Reporting Services can:
-- update a database on successful distribution of report.
Simplest example: I have bit in table of recipients that determines
whether their report should be run and sent. After report is sent
(successfully), I want sql to set bit to 0.
Is this possible?

errors. Is reportserverservice_*.log the only place success and errors
are recorded? Any advice/code on parsing that file?
I am prepared to create mini application to accomplish what i need.
Should I be investigating the rs utility? an application in C#?

> >|||Yes, the log file is the only place that we record specific information
about a Data driven subscription failure. You could parse for the
information, but we do not guarantee that the format will be the same from
release to release (a QFE or SP could change it as well).
I'm not sure of how useful it would be anyway. Are you seeing some of the
subscriptions fail, while others succeed? Generally they will either all
succeed or all fail.

Data-driven subscriptions - SQLRS Ent vs Std

I want to use data-driven subscriptions but cannot create one - the "New
data-driven subscription" button does not appear in Report manager. I
believe this may be because I'm running SQLRS Standard - can someone confirm
this please?
If true, is there an easy way to upgrade to SQLRS Enterprise or do I have to
uninstall Std and do a fresh install of Enterprise? Is there a way to save
and restore all my subscriptions?

PeterThe data Driven Subscriptions are only part of the enterprise version. I
don't think you have to uninstall to put in the entprise license. It won't
affect your subscriptions.

Data-Driven Subscriptions

I migrated my system from SQL2000 to SQL2005, now my MDX reports don't want to work with the data-driven subscriptions. The SQL reports run fine.

Any help, comments, or even suggestions will be very welcome.

Is the SSAS also 2005 or is it 2000?

|||What do you have in the RS windows service logfile <Program Files>\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.#\Reporting Services\LogFiles\ReportServerService__<timestamp>.log at the time when DD subscription fires?|||SSAS is also 2005, i had a problem with the cubes before SP1 was released, but after SP! the Cubes and SSAS 2005 seems to be working fine|||There are two log files there so i pasted both for you

My reports read their path to place them from the stored procedure under d:\reporting services output\<client_serial> which is incorrect, i had to change that to a mapped path because reporting services requests a URL for a path to place the created reports, so i mapped a folder on my server and changed the path to \\reporting services output

I migrated my system from SQL2000 to SQL2005, now my MDX reports don't want to work with the data-driven subscriptions. The SQL reports run fine.

Each time I run a data-driven subscription, I recieve the following
information ... "Processing: 0 processed of 1 total; 0 errors" ... The report
runs fine manually and via a subscription, but not a data-driven
subscription. I'm at a lost, where do I start to find this problem?

anything about picking up the items. What is the subscriptions result?
Have you checked if the subscriptions has succeeded but is just not
reporting it correctly?

Thanks for the reply. The data-driven subscription is designed to save the
file as an excel file to a shared folder. Late yesterday I had changed the
User name to my own credentials to see if this would help. Now I recieve the
message "Processing: 1 processed of 1 total; 0 errors"; but no file is
delivered/created to the shared folder. This is at least a step better since
before I had changed the credentials, the message was "Processing: 0
processed of 1 total; 0 errors" . I did look through the log files and found
no errors (wish I had, it would make it simpler to track down the issue)

can not use dynamic values for the user name and password. From the log,
this looks like the issue.
